Plusieurs disent de 2016 qu'elle fut moins bonne en nouveaux jeux que 2015.

Il suffit seulement de creuser un peu plus loin que les gros coups de publicité des gros éditeurs et vous verrez que même si 2016 ne nous a pas donné des phénomènes ludiques de 2015 tels T.I.M.E. stories, Pandemic Legacy ou Codenames, c'est une année qui nous a fait miroiter des innovations ludiques franchement rafraîchissantes.
 
J'en profite d'ailleurs ici pour vous dévoiler mon no 1 de 2016 : Forged in Steel.
 

 
Un jeu que quelques uns ici ont joué et qui les a manifestement marqué (Richardtempura l'a notemment placé en 1er de son top 10). Forged in Steel est un très ingénieux mélange de deux jeux cultes : Twilight Struggle et Tamanny Hall. Simplement avec cette prémisse, il fait pâlir de fadeur Terraforming Mars : un jeu qui, malgré une thématique bien rendue et une qualité matérielle/visuelle convaincante, demeure très classique et conservateur dans ses mécaniques où on frôle presque le bon vieux multi-solitiaire concours de tricot (tout le monde fait son petit projet tranquille sans déranger personne donc tout le monde trouve ça l'fun et tout le monde est content, surtout les mauvais perdants!).
Comme Terraforming Mars, la stratégie de Forged in Steel repose surtout sur les cartes que vous jouerez. Mais quelle profondeur! Quelles subtilités! Et quel niveau d'interactivité! Les mécaniques originales n'abondent pas mais le simple fait d'avoir collé à un jeu d'urbanisme et de négociations le système des cartes multiusages de Twilight Struggle (réservé généralement à des jeux de conquêtes) fait de Forged in Steel un jeu qui créé un précédent dans la monde ludique. Qui plus est, le jeu est vicieux à souhait. Suivant le développement de la petite ville de Pueblo au Colorado au début du XXe siècle, il recrée fidèlement dans ses mécaniques l'histoire urbaine de l'endroit en tenant compte des révoltes ouvrières qui peuvent nous frapper, bourgeois hommes d'affaires que nous sommes, si l'on abuse de nos vacheries sur les autres joueurs. Mais on sera tenté malgré tout de faire de l'abus, simplement pour essayer de devenir, pour un tour, un maire corrompu afin d'avoir plus de pouvoir et de points de victoire. C'est absolument brillant.
 
Ceci dit, passons à mon top 10 des nouveautés 2016 que même ceux qui ont joué à Forged in Steel n'ont probablement pas joué selon moi!
